Can someone help me with the Double Duck names, please?
Thanks!

Lucky mistake for you I would think.
I'm sure someone will correct me where I may be wrong,
Special No1 was basic grade/model
Then Satin Edge and Satin Wedge (wedge blade), Gold Edge, Then Wonder Edge/Lifetime.

That is what I wanted to determine is the grading used by Double Duck.
While I am disappointed the the blade is not a wedge, I did not want to push away a better grade than was shown originally.

It is my understanding that the satinedge and satinwedge are the same grade of steel with a different grind. I think that the Special #1 is also the same type of steel and grind as the satinedge (I have not honed/shaved with a special #1 though). The goldedge is the same as the satinedge except it has the goldplating on the spine. I thought that the Wonderedges were the ones which were a little different in that the steel had been cryo treated to keep the edge a little longer; however, recently there has been a rumer going around that the Wonderedge is the same as everything else. My experiences with all the razors in question tell me differently though.

Thanked: 13245Here is what I have found so far in the order that I understand them to be...
Thebigspendur is the best authority on these razor's that I have talked with though... I'm sure he could add even more
Special #1 / Dwarf
SatinEdge / SatinBaby / SatinWedge
Stainless
GoldEdge
WonderEdge
Lifetime/Grim Reaper (not to be confused with the Lifetime/changeable blade)
I have heard tell of a StainlessBaby also but haven't seen one, another member here found one that is stamped Made in France so it seems that there are quite a few more models out there...... Of course there are a few of the infamous Puma/DD too....

The first razor you were supposed to receive was either rescaled or was one of those mistake razors that have surfaced recently. The scales say one thing but the razor says something else and its gold washed which is incorrect also. maybe a manufacturers goof I don't know. I think Manyware was selling a few of these awhile back.
For grading DDs you first have to decide if its a Bresnick/Bresduck or a Pearlduck. Those are two entirely different lines and they really have nothing to do with each other, other than they are DDs. Most of the ones we are familiar with like the edge series are all pearlduck while the Lifetime go back to the bresnick era. Also there are many other models from the early days that surface every once in awhile like the razors that don't mention DD and then have 1 duck on them or the Twin Ducks and then the DDs. Of course there are the Puma Ducks and some others like them too and some numbered older models.
Personally I think all the pearlducks are the same steel with the exception of the Stainless Duck and the Wonderedge. The others are just different sizes or grinds or styles. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
