Thread: Toe on Genco

Hello all. I just received a Genco I won on eBay, and have a question about the toe of the blade. The razor was presented as "never to have been used." It has a square notch at the heel of the blade at the bottom of the shank. It has a spike point, but at the toe, instead of being "closed" at the toe, there's a hole drilled into the toe at the top into the thick of the spine,parallel to the spine, and about 1/8" deep. I hope I've described this correctly. I have numerous Gencos and all have no hole. What's up with that? Any ideas from you folks would be appreciated as I don't know if the blade has been "shortened" or is a regrind.
