    Default Auction Find

Another new guy here. I am acquiring the tools necessary for shaving.
I found a couple of razors in a lot at a local auction and was wondering what the vet's thought about my purchase. I have been at this web site learning about razors, so I know about the popular ones but I have not seen much about the two I just bought.

The first one is a F.A. KOCH & Co. (made in germany). The other side of the blade says "Blue Ribbon". The scales are nice and the pins are tight. It has minor hone ware.

The second is in what I think is the original box. It is a Globusmann? Globusman? Not sure. It looks brand new to me. I don't see any hone ware and the blade is pretty much a mirror finish all the way back. One side says Bengfeld & Sohn, Solingen-Germany. The other side says Globusman, First Class with the number 29 next to it. The scales have a pearl looking finish on both ends. It has three pins, all of which are tight.

    Your input would be helpful,
    Thanks, Dave.

I'm no veteran but from a shavers perspective. Very nice. Straight even blades of good german steel.

Send them out for their first honing and enjoy.

Thats good to hear. I ended up paying about $50 for the lot which included some watches and other misc. stuff. Does this sound like an o.k. price to pay for the razors?

The price sounds good. You got three very nice looking razors and some other misc stuff. Again, the price considered good by some may not be good to others, it's a personal thing. If you're willing to pay for something and are happy with it then the price is right...catch my drift? But 3 razors in good shape for $50...I would have bought it too!
