Thanked: 0Shaving vs. Hairstylist Shavettes
Hey all,
Stupid question, but I'll ask anyways.
I have come across a small shavette razor but it is used as a hair shaping razor (has a removable guard on it) and uses Japanese Tombo blades.
I don't intend to shave with it, but was wondering if anyone out there can tell me the difference between one of these and a 'shaving' shavette. I don't image there being much difference between the actual shavettes, but what about the blades?
Thanks for entertaining my thoughts.

I honestly have no familiarity with this brand. Other "hair shapers" have proven unsuitable for shaving with though. The blades don't tend to give a very smooth cut they don't need to for their purpose.
There are "shavettes" that start in price under $10 american. Probably a better bet if you want to gaurentee yourself a decent shot at a good shave.

Thanked: 0Thanks for the reply.
My grandmother-in-law passed away recently, and it was among her possessions. I don't plan on ever buying a shavette as I really like my 'real' straight. But since I have it, I thought that I would enquire if it may be suitable for shaving (more as a loaner to someone new).

In that case all you can do is give it a whirl.
Good luck!

Thanked: 0Now I'm curious about it.
Of course I'd have to buy new blades...
If I ever do I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks Tim!
