    How do you know metal types? I just got a DOVO Blackstar, anyone have some specifics on that one for me??

    I have that exact razor

    The first thing I would say is when you are honing it be sure to tape over the bit painted black (the name of which escapes me just now i`m sure somebody can help me out). If you miss out the tape you will stain your hone. Like I did

    Further than that from memory its a carbon-steel blade. I`m not sure what else specifically you want to know....

    Edit: The spine and the shank and the tang. THOSE are the areas! Those are the terms.
