Thanked: 0Recent Additions to My New Collection
I am a new collector . . . have never even used a straight edge before. I purchased two "antique" razors (one is attached, stamped on one side "Miller & Co., Detroit", and other side "Wolverine M. Germany"; pic of razor two to be attached later . . . it is stamped "The Palmer, Chicago") , and wonder if 1)anyone can shed any light on them, their history, manufacturing, value, etc., and 2) if anyone can suggest care of them, how/where to have them sharpened, etc. I really appreciate any information and look forward to being a continuing participant in this group.

Thanked: 1Hi, and welcome to the site, mate!
I'm sure others can answer the first part of the question better, so I'll leave that to others. As for point two, you can check out the various stickies at the top of the razor/razor restoration forums, just to name a few, they contain invaluable info for the maintenance and care of straights. As for honing(sharpening), there are quite a few gents on here who will do the service for you for usually around 20 bucks a razor.
Enjoy your stay!
