yeah, dunno if its rot or stank. either way, i grinded off the pin and trashed the scales. they look brand spankin new, couldnt look newer really. dont know... doesnt matter, garbaged.
just gotta find someone to make some new scales for it now!

Never heard of odd smells from scales (other than the burnt tire smell previously described).
I'd be happy to make a set for you, but if they are in as good shape as you say, maybe soaking in a soap-water soultion with a teaspoon of bleach?

Thanked: 0Ok this sounds crazy but..... try roasting it in a crock pot with some coffee beans on a low heat for a long time, like 6 hrs. your house will smell great and just maybe the stench will be gone. I have heard of people using this method for removal of car stench. hope it helps
