Thanked: 53Sheffield razors & knives
I ran across this at the University of Sheffield web site, pretty interesting stuff. Be sure to check out the 'examples of razors'.

There's also some nice information about the history of knife-making in Sheffield in a section about a past exhibit.

And now I have to get back to work.......

very interesting... i like the "irish point" which we normally call the "french point"... the "long cut" shoulder that we call "shoulderless" and the "hollow point" known to us as the "barber's notch"
Be just and fear not.

I noticed the Irish point description for what we normally call a French point too. I wonder if it has anything to do with the significant British disdain for the French...

Thanked: 174Nonsense, we love the French. But I'm not going to make a point about it.
