Thanked: 02 new vintage blades
On Sunday, I went to some of the local antique shops to see if I could find any vintage blades. The first few shops had next to nothing and what they did have was either visibly rusted or chipped. I passed up those ones in the blink of an eye. Eventually I stumbled into a shop that had all sorts of stuff. He had something like a dozen straights, a couple other odd razors, and some accessories. Out of the straights he had, he actually had one vintage razor that had shown no signs of ever being used as it was still in almost mint packaging and the blade itself was pristine. Not a mark on it and sharp as hell. I have had the collecting bug bite me so I picked it up along with one other blade and a vintage bottle of Bay Rum aftershave (with some of it even left in the bottle still). Anyways, once I got home, I looked around online for the two blades I got and couldn't find much information on them. I was wondering if anyone here might have any info/opinions on either of them. The one that is in mint condition has the following markings: The blade itself is inscribed with "For Professional Use" and "Master, my best razor, C. Friedr. Ern", the tang has "C. Friedr Ern's Master" on one side and "Wald-Solingen" on the other, and the scales have "Master" on it. The only information I could find was from a Swedish site that basically had the exact same information I just posted on it. The other blade I found a bit more on but would still like to know opinions on it if at all possible. This one was also in excellent condition but it was obviously used and honed in the past. The only markings on this one are on the tang, "W.H. Morley & Sons" underneath it "Clover Brand Germany". This one I actually cleaned up, stropped, and shaved with last night. What a difference between this one and my first blade, the Kriegar #KG102. I can definitely tell the difference between and how much of a junker the Kriegar is. Sorry if the post is long and rambling....

Both of your razors are made by highly regarded manufacturers. The Ern is probably the more sought after of the two, but the Morley is also a very good razor. I have several of each brand and they are all great shavers. I believe Ern is still in business as a cutler in Germany. According to Goins, Morley was in business between 1913 and 1927. Nice find!
