Default Jones Bros CO ltd razor? Possible pick-up?

First of all, does anybody know if this is a good razor:
ANTIQUE STRAIGHT RAZOR (reliance,by Jones bros.co. ltd.Toronto) - Halifax Collectibles For Sale - Kijiji Halifax

I contacted the seller about the item (material of scale, steel, blade), and he said he didn't know any of that information.

If it's a good razor, does anybody live near Halifax, Canada who could pick it up and ship it to me? I don't know the address, but I could email him back and find out. All I know is the email alias is Antique Farmer.

    Strange pictures!

Picture one is acceptable! but picture # two shows a plethera of damage to the edge of the razor. 1st of all, the razor looks to be a 4/8, and if you bought it, to bring the edge back, the amount of honing would reduce the size too much to make it a workable razor.

It's not worth it at any price, let alone $20.00.

I'd take a better chance with Ebay. - or, our own B/S/T right here, but ya gotta be quick.

Steve, look closer at pic 2. That's the black carpet overlapping the edge IMO. From what I can tell I think it's a nice looking razor.

I guess the only way to really tell would be to go there and do a thumbnail test. Unfortunately I don't live close enough. Anybody live close enough willing to check it out, and possibly pick it up?

Just going to resurrect and older thread. This razor is still being listed on kijiji in Halifax. I can check it out if you'd like - shoot me a PM letting me know what aspects you want checked.

    Cheers,

    Rick
