Default A Gift - Joseph Feist, solingen

Hi everyone, Had a bit of luck today. One of my daughters friends dad was about to do a car boot sale, mentioned he found an old razor. And gave it to me
It's a white scaled Joseph Feist (Omega symbol) of solingen, Number on back 2427.Smallish hollow ground round point with some simple decoration around the tang. The edge is okish and it isn't too badly tarnished.
    I will post pictures soon.
Any dates or info would be much appreciated.

    .........and here is a picture.
BTW, I've cleaned it up a bit (as you can see), 1000 grit wet and dry then buffed with metal polish. I've got the edge razor sharp on my coticule with a little more work needed at the heel and toe. It seems to be very capable of taking an edge, it's very very keen in places!
I'm glade I got the box, it's the only place where old Joseph Feist put his name, It says Omega Solingen on the tang, with the Omega symbol. Took my a while to work out the "Omega" writing.
    Anyone know anything about him?
    Thanks M

It's had a few more miles on the "yellow Belgie" now and I shaved with it when I woke up today (Progress Vulfix Sicilian Limes SC - my favourite smell so far!)
It is a fine razor, it's as sharp as necessary for me.

I'm wondering wether I should give it back.
The guy I got it off had it when his grandfather died (old Italian chap)
I have told him he should have a go with it one day. Most people are too frightend to try them.

Make the offer, and if he refuses, then thank him. As a friend of mine puts it, don't cheat him out of hs blessing.

That's the thing, one day, he may realise it's part of his family history or he may simply want to use one (when they stop us dumping so much rubbish into the ground)
Anyway, I know him well and I will make him the offer (not bad restored and honed for free - well I enjoyed doing it) to give it back so long as he doesn't try to sell it for pennies at a boot sale!
