    They originally start in Austin, Texas then relocated to St.Louis in the early 1900s. Closer to the Steel mills I suspect.

    Just scored an Austin, Texas Shumate at the Flea Market yesterday. I would have thought it was a 40's or 50's razor from its appearance. Much to my surprise, my research revealed that the company relocated from Austin to St. Louis in 1904. The first shave will be tomorrow morning. With a little cleaning up, a little honing and a little stropping, this thing was scary sharp in short order. Tomorrow's shave should be the bomb.
