Barber's Practice Razor
One of my RAD sprees on the bay last week ended with this. Now if I was fishing I would “throw this one back”… it appears to be an incomplete razor.
A practice razor… looks like it was given a single grind and no edge. The steel is hardened (according to my bastard file) and may be tempered, so it should take a good edge if I ever decide to hone it. Everything else works jut fine.
May have been simply pulled from the production line after grinding and then scaled.
6/8 spike, red transparent 3 pin scales (I believe is Acrylic) and jimps on the bottom of the tang. “Fromm Bros Germany” stamped on one side of the tang “Practice Razor” on the other.
Is this an interesting bit of razor history, worthy of a display case, or just a mistake, a farad, another ebay disappointment to be quickly ushered into the laboratory along with other screaming razors to be experimented on?

Thats pretty cool. Maybe it was made to teach barbers how to set a good bevel, by starting from essentially nothing? It looks like it could end up a decent shaver too

Thanked: 84Thats a nice shaped razor. I would leave it alone though as I doubt anyone makes them anymore.
Sell it to a Barber gear collector if you don't really want it? Maybe someone would swap it for a nice razor??
I have a Framm razor that was made for a barber. Are you sure it reads Fromm?
Well found.

Thanks, yes it's Fromm. I have an old Fromm #50 razor, (one of my verry first straight razors) and i have seen a Otto Fromm #75 (whatever those numbers mean).
And I seen (posted on the forum) a Framm razor (could be yours... did you post pix?).
This one however is Fromm Bros. (Fromm Brothers?).
Interesting the names are so close, could they be the same manufacturer?
