I think that Elliot and the 10/8 just posted are the best looking of the bunch. I know it was some coin so don't want to offend but I don't personally care for the overall look of the bill ellis one.
I would love to find a big one like these. I guess I've been shaving with about a 4/8-5/8 in size. I was cleaning up one of the 7 day set I bought the other day and it is a 6/8 I think (3/4 marked) and is proportionally bigger, the length of tang between blade and pivot being longer. I can't wait to get it honed and try shaving with it, the weight and size felt much better balanced to my hand.

Thanked: 9This JE blade is sweet!
My largest is probably a 9/8 or 10/8 vintage JR - currently undergoing rehabilitation by Bruno
As a little aside: I have not seen a single vintage English wedge 8/8 or larger that balances well with its original scales. Not saying they aren't good - they are, very much so. But the shaving experience is quite different (for this, and a nuber of other reasons).
Cheers
Ivo

You know the old saying when it comes to p#&%s size. "It's not the size of the wand but the skill of the magician". The same applies here.
