    Hi all

I hope some can help me with any information on these maker, John Heiffor. Was he a good maker?
Have only seen one razor for sale from him, so it must mean he did not make many or that the owner´s today do not want to sell them. And that must mean that he made some great razor´s

    Thanks for reading

I have had several Heiffor razors - in fact I'm tidying one up now - and all have been good pieces. Still with an address like 3 Paradise Square Sheffield how could they be anything else?

Old thread but I've got one today as well.
Nice piece of steel, almost unused.
    Its my second.
First one says "Made for the Army" and J. Ritter on the back of the tang.
The new one says "Patent Model"
Both made in Paradise Square of course

Two of them have joined my collection, both excellent and marked with the Paradise Square stamp. They shave very, very well. Nice find! I would like acquire more of them! Great find.

    Here they are.
The upper one is the new one. Quarter hollow.
Has a horn handle, too. Hard to make out though.

To any still interested, there was a John Heiffor in Sheffield in 1822. Some of the J.H. razors are huge, and in the style of the 1820's and forward, barbers use razors. I am looking at one now that is 1-1/8". No photos, as it is not mine, yet.

there was a John Heiffor in Sheffield in 1822
    Whence such info?
    the style of the 1820's
Huge/meat chopper blades were made 1830-1880.
    Barber use razors - 1840 -1900.
If you speak about J.Heiffor razor on eBay now, it was made in 1860's. or 1870's.

P.S. Here some razors from 1820's.
