    Default Assy Shaneen (History?)

    Howdy All,

I've read on the forums about a lot of different brands of razor, but the other day in the vintage section of SRD I saw the Assy Shaneen Co razor and became intrigued because I have yet to read anything about that particular brand.

Could someone fill me in on some history regarding this brand?

Thanks for any and all help!

    Very Respectfully,
    Scott

It is actually Assy Shaheen & Co. 1903 to 1905. Their company was based in New York and their main trademark was Liberty Bell!

    Sorry about the incorrect spelling.

Thanks I've been trying to find something on them for a while. Do you know what level of quality they are?

    Thanks again,
    Scott

    Assy ?? Nice name
In the UK Assy is an abreviation of Assay office (the body that checks the purity of precious metals and gives it a "hallmark"). My spelling might be crap but I'm sure I'm right.

The owners were Turkish! Assy was a first name, Shaheen being the family name I assume!

Thanks everyone for the quick education!

Lynn, I'll keep that in mind for when the RAD kicks in.

    Very Respectfully,
    Scott
