A little background information, still fairly new at this (just over a month of shaving every day with straights). I've gotten pretty competent at shaving myself, i havnt cut or nicked myself in 3 weeks, i get nice close shaves with no irritation, though not usually quite BBS shaves.

Since buying kenrups starter set (with a DA) I have since acquired a DD Satinedge, and H. Wacker Blue wonder (with rosewood scales!!!). I started my journey into honing on the DD since it was a very inexpensive find on ebay, and it has some staining issues (its by no means an ugly razor, but its also not going to win any beauty contests). After honing a few times on the DD (though not doing much shaving, i received the wacker, the factory edge was OK at best, so i set out to hone it myself. It turned out really good, shaves very smooth. Not to mention its absolutely gorgeous!

To make a long story a little shorter (i realized i've been rambling a bit), i pulled the DD out today to give it a shot (first full shave with it). It was stunning, whiskers melted away as it passed over them, even ATG (which im still not very good at) it was so smooth. By far the most BBS shave i have ever experienced! It is by far my favorite of the the three razors that i currently have, even considering its scales are pretty loose and it has some tarnish issues.

Now, i did a pretty good job on the Wacker, but i suspect it has significantly harder steel then my DD(sheffield steel). This would explain why the DD's edge seems to be so much better.

What do you think?

P.S. If anyone has some extremely nice DD's they are looking to get rid of send me a PM!
