Henckels Friodur Razor
Well I scored this really nice Friodur off ebay about a week ago and it finally showed up today. When I get my camera out I will have to post some photos on here. I was just curious how good of a deal I actually got. What it is is the Friodur with a round tip 70 1/2 no-stain blade, and thick white scales with the dancing twins and Friodur on the one scale. What makes this one different is the fact that on the blade is J. A. Henckels Soligen over a checkered flag, all done in gold. It is really quite stunning. The only things wrong are some very minimal hone wear on the spine and some very light scratches on the top of the spine that I intend to polish out. The gold is very vivid and beautiful and the scales are the same except for a small nick where the blade tip hits the scale on both scales. I paid $70 for this razor, did I do good like I think so, or did I get ripped off?

Thanked: 79Sounds like you did quite ok. At any rate you could probably get a good bit more for it here than you paid...I've paid more for them myself.
Good find.

You did extremely well. These razors usually don't go for less then $100.00.

You got a great deal... Not as good a deal as I got for my lovely 8/8 NOS from a certain someone though ;-)

I shaved with it last night, I may sell my other razors now because I don't think they will get much use, talk about a smooth shaver. It has a lot more weight to it then my other two razors as well.

Sorry the ebay link has the pics taken off. I will probably get around to posting a pic in the next few days.

The day before yesterday I bought the same razor, by your description. Is this it? 70 1/2, 5/8, golden checkerd flag with dancing twins, I too have a problem with a not centered blade (do all from this model have the same problem?!?)
Is you guys could identify it...Last edited by napoleon; 07-15-2008 at 09:42 AM.

My handle is a little different, but the blade is exactly like mine. My blade is centered, but where the top of the blade hits the scales when closing it has made a small nick, like someone slammed it closed or something. I didn't get a box with mine though.
