A good catch
Lately, when coming back home on foot from the university, I saw in an hairdresser front store three nice old blades. I entered and asked the hairdresser if he was willing to part with his blades. Sadly for me he wasn't (ah, memories).
But that gave me an idea: touring the hairdresser on my way home, from time to time, to see if one of them want to give me some old straights. Most of them are not shaving with straight since the 90 for hygienic purposes and are using disposable blades. Sadly, most of them got rid of their old razors since. But I managed to find one who was willing to give me one or two straights. Unfortunately he couldn't manage to find them. During one month, from time to time I kept the contact and visited him and finally, three days ago, he found them (in a bucket in his garden shed) and gave me four of them: a Friodur 5/8, two Dovo 5/8 and one 4/8.
I cleaned and honed the Friodur two days ago. He seems to be a nice shaver (I still have to get to the coticule with it). I posted about it in the honing section.
And today I cleaned - but not yet honed - the two Dovo. Their are quite nice. I'll hone them next week (one has two chips, it may take some time).
Just wanted to share.

Wow! You really should buy him a nice thank you gift. Maybe something like this.
Otherwise you'll incur substantial karmic debt.
