    Default Anyone know their history??

First off I just started shaving with a straight, since I'm still learning how to use one and such I went antiquing and found a razor to practice honing once I get my hone in. I managed to find one in really good shape. My question about the razor is, Does anyone know anything about Crown Razor Co. of Boston Mass.? It is etched into the shank and I am just curious about it.

Also does anyone know a way to get dark spots off of metal? like I said in good shape but could be better. I'll post some pics after I find my camera...

I don't know about the company, but as for the spots, try a metal polish like MAAS. If that won't do it, you could try high grit sandpaper or steel wool/buffer. There is a guide to handsanding...I believe in the restoration forum.

There seem to have been several 'branches' of this firm - Germany, New York and Worcester, Mass. as well as Boston. All seem to have operated C. 1900 - 1930. That's about all I know, I'm afraid!
