    Default Dovo 5/8 stainless razors

Can some kind soul tell me what the measurements on these razors are? Length closed ? Fully opened? I don't like big razors. I want one of these but haven't been able to see one except for pictures. Thanks.

The 5/8 refers to the blade depth 'twixt spine and edge in multiples of 1/8" - so a 5/8 is 5/8". Majority of blades are 2.75" from heel to point. If you're still unsure PM me.

I guess I wasn't clear. I know that 5/8 refers to blade depth. What I want to know is how long is the razor when it's closed and how long is it when it's fully opened, ie. overall length. And I'm only interested in Dovo stainless razors. Thanks.

The razor is the same size as my other Dovo's. Nothing strange about its length. The stainless scales are HEAVY.The finish is flawless. There is a slight misalignment when the razor is closed-in fact you have to be careful not to damage the edge-its that close. The scales aren't parallel, due to the slight "bowing".I don't consider it a quality control issue. For the scales to be stiff the material would have to be much thicker and subsequently heavier.Using a dial caliper the scales measure 0.040" thick and 0.540" wide in the middle of the pins.

It's an excellent blade. Very attractive and uniform. It was easy to get a keen edge. The thing I dislike is the way the razor balances. With wet fingers the weight of the scales wants to ROTATE the razor about the axis of the shank. That being said, being made of all stainless steel it is easy to care for. Currently I use it in my rotation as a "second" to my primary razor and keep it at hand as backup. It isn't my favorite, I'll put it that way. YMMV.

    Question

Thanks Lt. you are very kind BUT wouldn't it have been easier to just measure the overall length of the razor, both closed and open? That's the only thing I want to know. The answers I've gotten so far have been from nice people trying to be helpful but none seem willing to tell me what I asked. I'm beginning to suspect a plot to drive me insane.

Look at the picture with the ruler, the scales are about 5.5 inches the blade is less than 4 inches, so over all it would be less than 9.5 inches full opened and about 5.5 inches closed.
