New Wade & Butcher - Good or Bad
Hey Community!
I'm pretty new to straight shaving so I need a little help!
Some time ago, I had the chance to buy a Wade & Butcher on eBay!
I paid only 30$ so I expected that I may get a Straight that is not useable anymore.
It is a 5/8 not fully wedge.
The grind is convex/concave. It seems like there is a little smile.
Is that a result of bad honing? And can that be fixed?

The Wade & Butcher logo is pierced in the metal, but not very deep. I was just wondering because my Mulcuto from Solingen has a deeper pierced logo. Or did I buy some kind of fake

Maybe you can look at the pictures and tell me if I made a half-decent deal!
Ah, by the way: On this page, that kind of razor was sold, too! But in a better condition:

Thanked: 1903My preciousss... It's a lovely shaver, and Max-S's description was an understatement. It is in excellent condition, and shaves like a dream. Take yours, clean it up, hone it, and you'll have a great razor! I actually prefer wider blades, but this W&B definitly is a keeper.

I have to agree. That is a very nice looking blade. As a matter of course there are a lot of W&B's out there so you wouldn't make a fake one of them. They are good razors but are not high priced. To me they are the 57 Chevy of the razor set not super expensive but rock solid dependable. I have 3 myself and one in particular is my absolute favorite razor which I would never trade or sell. Hope this helps.

I have seen lightly stamped or worn logos on razors from various makers. Not at all unusual. Nice razor, enjoy it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

So, It's me again.
The W&B is honed up. While I still need a bit practice to get a perfect shave, I'm satisfied so far. It feels like I'm shaving with a feather and not a straight
But I have a question. Does anyone know how old my straight could be?
I'm confused because on this page: Straight Razor Manufacturers and Dates of Operation
they say W&B produced 'till 1890, and then they say W&B produced 'till 1919. Don't really understand it
WADE & BUTCHER
