Title: Now Coveting - The Straight Razor
Gas is reaching heights of $4 a gallon, the Dow is on a roller coaster, and the housing market is as anemic as a runway model. In other words, what better time to drop $30,000 on a straight razor? In November, Hommage is introducing the limited- edition Damascene, conceived by Wolfgang Joensson, an industrial and product designer who co-founded the company after stints at renowned shops like Pentagram and frog design. The blade, made of pure Damascene steel, a hot-forged metal that is legendary for its strength, has a pedigree stretching back nearly a dozen centuries to ancient sword makers. A platinum plated sheath houses the blade when its not in use, and each of the 15 razors in the first edition comes with a certificate of authenticity. For the shaving cream, you're on your own.
Do you think the company would be open to a group buy?
