Default Help identifying a razor, please!

Hey everybody. I'm a lurker here, who decided to finally register and post a question. I am trying to identify a razor for a friend, who says they bought it not too long ago brand new. I can see no identifiable company name, but there is a logo on the handle. It looks like a horse (rared back) with a letter "E" on the left side of the logo. The shank is stamped with "Solingen Germany" and the blade is etched with "Solingen". Please see the attached bad cell phone photo. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Also, I'm still new to straight razor shaving, and slowly getting the hang of it, but I rather enjoy it.

    Hello Chukpo!

It is quite hard to identify it... Solingen is a worldwide known town in Germany for their cuttlery.

Nevertheless, could you please post a new picture of the logo itself?

    It could help...

    Have a nice evening!

    Sure!

Here is a macro shot of the logo, with the atomic flash on, of course. Thanks again!

Hi there! Maybe some pics of the blade washing amd the etching on the blade would help... Thanks!
But the logo on the scales is lovely. If you are unsure of the quality of the razor because the brand is unknown, how about honing it up and giving it a shave? The real quality of the razor is in the performance in shaving. It shaves well... it's a good razor! My 2 cents...

I can't say that I quite understand the difference between "shouldered and shoulderless" hardware. Can I get a quick explanation?

    It means no blade stabilisers.
