    Default Two "new" straights

    Hi all!

    The two straights I won at a bidding site just arrived!
    I payed about 4 $ for each one!=)

    One is a swedish razor marked" D.W Dahlgren Eskilstuna Sweden".
    The other is a german razor marked "Respect Trademark" on one side and "Germany" on the other.

    I'm a noob on straights so could you guys tell me if i did a good buy and give me some tips on how to get them shavable.

    I'm going to order a Norton 4k/8k stone an practise honing with these razors,trying to get them shave ready,and polish them up.Sometime in the future I might rescale them,the swedish razor is kind of "floppy" in the pivot pin.

    Do you have any tips on getting them shave ready?I have wetsanding paper from 400 grit to 1200 grit and I'm going to order the Norton,will I be fine with that?

    Pics
    1.The two razors and a box that came with them,I'm unsure if the box belongs to any of the razors.Is there a bit of a smiling edge on the swedish?

    2.The german razor,has an etching on the blade saying "Diamond Steel",on the scale is the name J.Sjödin etched,probably an old owner,I'm a bit confued about the plastic on the tang,is that common?This razor i pretty sharp and should'nt be to hard to get shave ready.It shaves my arm but it pulls a bit,the swedish one does'n even shave armhair..

    3.The box that came with the razors.

    4.The german razor,what kind of grind is this?(do you say grind?)

    5.The swedish razor.Wedge?
