Question About to take the plunge...

Like many, I've been using a DE for a while, love the shave (generally do a WTG and 2x XTG)...hands down better than any mass-marketed cartridge system. So, reading up on straights, I have the specs of what I'm looking for...but not the actual razor. While I don't need a 100% match, any suggestions on a straight that somewhat fits the bill?
    • 6/8, give or take
    • Full Hollow / Extra-Hollow
    • Stainless Steel
    • French Point / Spanish Point / Barber Notch (anything but a typical round point really)
    • NOT a Dovo or TI ... guess I want something somewhat unique
    • Vintage, New, or NOS....don't care
    • Scales not too intricate (e.g. not MOP), but also something nicer than plastic/celluloid. Perhaps bone, horn, or even wood?
    • $150 - $200 fully honed and shave ready

I know I can't get too picky and I'm not ready to drop money on a custom (yet), so I don't need to have everything...just something hopefully close that I can use as a regular shaver.

    Thanks!
    -JC

...and for those especially acute, I posted this in another forum and was recommended by many to try my luck here!

Honestly, assuming you've NEVER shaved with a Str8,I would advise that you try a simple 5/8 Roundpoint that has been professionally honed. Choosing a razor just on aesthetics is foolhardy IMO. For a novice str8 shaver the Roundpoint will help you avoid some injuries until you really feel confident in your skills.

A full hollow, like a Dovo( I know...you don't want one) Bismarck has a completely different feel , the flexibility of the blade does take some getting used to.Depending on how coarse your beard is - will make a difference.

Stainless? Why? That will limit your choices. Your funding is sufficient, there is no issue there. Few of us here have only one razor, but ,obviously there always is the first-but to pigeon hole yourself into one specific razor chosen with no Str8 shaving experience, IMO, is a recipe for disappointment. On the other hand you can always buy what YOU want- maybe it'll work. Lots of help is available here. Welcome and good luck.

I'm also very curious- what exactly is "especially acute"?
