From Scottish directory in 1870: LANDELL, William, gunmaker, cutler, and iron-
monger, saw, edge-tool, and mathematical instru-
ment maker, 106 Trongate ; Sylvan works, Mile-
end ; residence, Canobie house, Westercraigs.

I appreciate the come back and am amazed that there are people like you that can get this kind of information. I couldn't find much on the company. Is there any way to know the time period of manufacture? I am trying to restore this razor to Shave ready. It has been a challenge thus far. I hope it turns out to be a good shave.

Here is a razor I picked up recently. It was marketed by John Kirkwood who was a 'hairdresser' operating at 12 Drummond St., Edinburgh, in the late 1800s. This model is called "The Drummond" and was made in Germany. I'm not sure how long Kirkwood operated at this address, but the place is still in business as a barber shop to this day.

The earliest entry that i found in directories was in 1866 and he died in 1891.

The only scot I have is by R.E. Wright & Co labeled "Glasgow Cross" on the shank and "The Favorit" etched on the blade. About an 11/16 round point with what appear to be bone scales.

I live about 20 miles away from Glasgow and just for some info 106 trongate Glasgow is a leather shop now on the bottom floor the rest of the building seem derelict I will try and acquire more information on the history of the making of the cut throat razors I know this an old post but I'm very interested in this since it's so close to home ...
