    Default Flea market find?

    Picked up two razors today.One is a Friedr.Aug.Schmit. and the other is a W.R.Humphrey's & Co.Both have plain black scales and the blades are surprisingly clean and sharpAnyone have any info on these razors.Age,quality etc?

    I know nothing specific about those two razors, but a good place to start finding out is usually the Uniclectica web page on straights.

    A quick search does not show anything on the Schmit, but the Humphrey's entry says they were a Sheffield manufacturer from 1875 until at least 1919. Sheffields are usually quite nice shavers IMO.

    Schmit sounds German - here is link to German maker's marks. The Schmit is there, but no info. beyond a picture of the mark unfortunately.

    From the point of view that both are known to come from good manufacturing regions (Sheffield and Solingen), I'd say they are good quality razors and well worth the effort to get them up and running again.
