    Default How 'bout this for a newbie?

    Fromm Straight Razor

    is this a decent razor for a newbie? who knows just about nothing of straight edge razor shaving
    if so what other items would i need?

    Cant say i've ever heard of the make but I would suggest trying the classifieds on this site.

    Not sure if i'm correct, but isn't that the same company that produces Illinois strops? Can't help you on the quality, i'm afraid. Unless you like a challenge i'd look in the classifieds though. You'll get a shave ready razor that way, & that will help you enjoy the experience more 'till you're ready to progress.

    I agree and look for one thats honed and shave ready. Shaved ready here means its ready to go as what you get from somewhere else maynot and probably wont be truly shave ready.

    I have honed one, and just did a quick test shave with it before sending it back home, They are a decent razor, somewhere in the same category as a Double Arrow...Rather heavy handling as compare to a quality razor of the same size....
    The real question I guess is would I spend $49.99 on one??? and that would be a resounding NO I would either get a Vintage razor or spend the $10 on a Double Arrow.....
