    Default Imps

I apologize in advance for any duplication in recent discussions; but imp doesn't search well.

I have seen red imps from Morriss(sp), Ludo and Case. Why was this logo so often duplicated? Were there other manufacturers of Red Imp? Are there more than 132 and 133?

I have also seen Black Imp and simply Imp. What is an Imp and why is it so popular in razor naming?

I like to find a Case 132, Morris 133, and a Ludo 132 as I have the counterpart of the pairs already to make a 6 day set

I was unaware that there were Ludo Imps; would you mind posting a picture and a little information? I've got a Case 132 and I've used a Case 133. I've never actually seen the Morris ones in person. How do they compare? For example, the Case imps are known for being quite hard; is the same true of the Morris and Ludo imps?

    Here's a photo of a Ludo red imp: http://straightrazorpalace.com/buy-s...ave-ready.html
    And a Morris and a Case: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rgphoto...7879236/show/.

Thanks for the pics. I'd still love to hear some info about how the Morris and Ludo's compare to the Case ones.

I'll get back with you on the hardness. Kinda funny to me anyway but I've started this collection and have never honed or shaved with any. the morris is in the best condition with the newest looking scales I've ever had and just a touch or rust on the toe spine. The ludo had a broken scale but really nice blade condition. A hand forged 132 would be nice to have, sorry I missed that sale. The case I just got off ebay a couple days ago. The ad said heat damage but i was sure it was tarnish, it is and only 8 bucks.

No buffs of Imp history on site, with factoids to add?

The only thing I would add is that just about all of them are made by the same unknown maker in Solingen including the later case versions. The earlier case versions are made in the U.S. I don't know if there are any real differences performance wise between the U.S made ones and the Solingen ones but I would assume they are an entirely different animal.
