As to where they all went, I have quite a few.................
Anything is possible, but the blade grind, tail shape, and scale design (etc), points to early 1800s IMHO. (Of course, who really knows? It's a cool razor nonetheless.)

And was it Worstenholme? I read it was Wolstenholme. (Oh, well.)

    Thanks for the info.

FWIW I'd estimate that for every razor we see displayed in the forum there are hundreds if not thousands more in the hands of people who might never come across SRP or even know what they have. I do know oddly that there are many more strictly collectors of straights (not restoring or shaving) that never come to any of the shaving sites. They just collect privately and on eBay, etc.

I agree. And it makes me sad to think of all the old beautiful razors that will never be restored and used for shaving. (While the owner uses a plastic disposable Bic in the morning.)

Concur with you Christopher. Such a sad waste. I recently purchased a nice looking generic spike point on ebay. When I originally contact the seller to get the blade size and what i wanted to do with it he asked "Do you guys really shave with these?" Needless to say he got very interested. I promised to send him a picture when I got it polished and honed.
