FWIW, for a mere $38 I scored this dead mint, possibly NEW OLD STOCK George Wostenholms & Sons "Celebrated I*XL Razor" from ebay. Mint box. Absolutely perfect- in fact,more perfect than alot of NEW razors I have purchased as of late.

It honed beautifully and is ready to shave. My FIRST Wostenholm- I hope I can find some more.Best of luck on your new aquisition.

I really like Wostenholm blades. I really like the work Traveler does. Enjoy. I received an ebay purchase last week, a 6/8s square point which es never honed for 12.50. I has a break in the scales at the wedge pin that come CA is holding together well enough. I may rescale it in the spring. If my son has time to take a pic I'll post later.

I got this one (top razor) for $30. It has a wonderful feeling in my hand, balance and heft.

Lt.Arclight, What kind of hone are your displaying with your Wostenholm? I have one very similar. It is very heavy for its size. Are they proper Arkansas Stones, or what? My stone does a good job. I used it with my Wostenholm IXL Fine India Steel for a great edge. That razor I use for beard left unshaven for too many days. I am pleased with Wostenholm blades. I traded off one other one. I had convinced myself that it was too many times honed. Now I regret the trade.

The hone under the razor is my Blue/Green Escher.
