Thanked: 953I have a Fillarmonica 13 from classic. It's a wonderful shaver but a bear to hone. I finally got it where I want it but it took me a while to find the right combination of stone and technique, but it holds the edge for a long time and is a wonderful shaver.

Good question.
This is what the add said:
Precious razor old FILARMONICA of the prestigious factory of Jose Monserrat Pou.
In its years of manufacture, Filarmonica created several brands of razors, manufactured and marketed this beautiful razor that is currently very difficult to achieve, it is harder to achieve than the "Filarmonica". Was produced and performed with the same manufacturing process with the same quality controls to provide an optimum finish ready to meet your best customers.
You can appreciate that it is unmistakably the same court on the same road and finishing of both the party of cut as part of the clamp.
The company was created in the 1915 in the city of Mataró, province of Barcelona, throughout the years the company was constituted as one of the best marks of manufacture of cutlery, being transferred to an industrial estate of the same city. It does, approximately, about 20 years the company closed his doors to leave the manufacture.
This knife is made in 1960-1970 and is completely new, still contains the oil to maintain the leaf intact.
This old razor is new to release, in its leaf can be appreciated the name of the mark, in its base Made in Spain, its grip of black color causes that it is a very pretty and original razor

So, it was YOU!
I watched that auction and I got outbid. I'm happy it went for one of the members here.
According to the auction description, if I recall, this is a NOS straight razor made by Jose Monserrat Pou, so you can't go wrong - 82 USD, yes you have done a great deal!

Loueedacat,
I have the same Fili and am having a heck of a time trying to get it sharp. I have a DMT 8EE, a coticule, a Chinese 12k, and a Shapton 16k for stones, but also have some CrOx on canvas strop. No matter what combo I try, the thing just pulls and skips.
I'd love to know what you've found that works for this Fili?
scott.

I had a really hard time honing my Filly DT 13. I just kept at it on the Norton until it got there. Once dialed in, it's a wonderful shaver. Among my favs. As has been said often on the forums, get a good sharp edge on the lower grit before moving on.
