    Default what to get?

I've been told that I have a nice precent coming up.I have said that I wish for a new razor ofcource
Now,the person that is geting me the gift don't know alot about razors,so I've been aloud to chose for myself. The cash limit is about 300 bucks. That will make it the most expencive razor I own,so I'm gonna take my time picking it.Any good suggestions? I'm currently leaning towards mastro livi regrains.I'll chose shave ability over looks...

If it were me, I would get a Sta-Sharp or a Wade and Butcher, or hi_bud_gl's Genco master cutler he just posted...and spend the remaining cash on a coticule.

a coticule is more versatile than a Chinese 12k, but if you like your 12k...disregard that statement

I dunno, Livi regrinds look nice and all, but they are overpriced IMHO. You are paying for his name, not the shave quality of the razor.

Some of those TI's are awfully nice looking though... But quality control seems spotty at best.

Now that I think about it the Le Grelot's have been getting excellent reviews everywhere I look. Nobody has said anything bad about them yet. They seem right within your price range too.
