    Default Soviet Union Razor

I got an old razor from my friend and it is RAKETA razor from ex Soviet Union...
So, I was wondering if those razors are any good for shaving or are they just good to learn how to hone a razor...
    Thanks...

Dunno but let us know how it hones up and shaves.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Well, there is a picture of it in my old thread...
It has been sanded and polished since then...
I'll get my whetstones on saturday, so then we'll see how it will look...

I have 4 Soviet razors that I bought from antique shops in Estonia. I got one of them, a "Steez", honed and it is one of the best shavers in my collection.

Even more jealous. Had my addiction been at its height during my backpacking days through eastern europe I would have kept my eyes peeled.

Sometimes its better to hit your addiction early on.

In Soviet Union did many straight razors, but quality of steel was not so good. Therefore many Soviet people used trophy Germans razors.
