I dropped my razor this morning shaving and chipped the tip... *tear*

Ouch. I feel your pain. If it can be fixed, get it to some stones quick.

Such a painful ordeal. I've been there. I've ruined two on the polishing wheel, and one from dropping it, and one from a chip while honing with too much pressure. It's a crime, but there's hope for many with just slight chips.

Don't worry, you can fix it & eventually the pain will ease. It'll always be with you when you recall that the razor used to be that tiny bit better than it is now, but you'll heal. I promise.
