    Default What is this razor?

I bought this razor to practice my honing skills. I don't know anything about it. Can anyone give me any information about it? I've attached a couple of pictures. The tang has an inscription that reads, "Imperial Razor" and a registration number. The other side just says "Germany." The blade has an engraving of some kind of building, perhaps a palace.

imperial razor company... and i think the engraving is from the Columbia exposition 1892-1893, usually the blade says horticultural buildings under the etching... normally you see these as crown and sword razors (an Ern brand, with wald-solingen on the tang)

I'm sure that somebody will be by with a different view on the etching real soon. here is another look at it

Yup looks like a Columbia Exposition souvenir razor. A cool thing about that is, unlike most vintage razors, it's possible to know the date of manufacture within a year or so.
