    Default Iwasaki handles

Iwasaiki razors are sold with "bare" handles. Tosukes have a plastic sleeve covering the handle which makes them easier to hold. Until now I have used my Iwasaki as it came but I am thinking of covering its handle to give it more "flesh".

How do you use your Iwasaki? Did you cover the handle with tape or rattan as you see occasionally.

I use mine as is. I really don't find the Tosuke with its covering any easier or more pleasant to use than the Iwasaki. If you do cover it the only concern is rust advancing under the covering. Probably if you use a wrap like parachute cord you would want to apply some sealing medium over it to protect it.

I don't have a Japanese straight, YET, but I can say aesthetically speaking, I love the rattan or bamboo looking wrapped handle.
