Thread: First Razor!

So here is my first razor i'm looking for a little more info on this blade. "Garantie Solingen" is marked on one side & "40" on the other. The box it came with was marked "Carl Wusthof" and such. it would be great if this was a real Wusthof, but the lacking of the wusthof trident logo is a bit concerning. Any help/info is much appreciated, thanks! (I know she's not in the prettiest condition right now)

Razors frequently come in a mismatched box. The hinge pin appear to be original and it may be rescaled. The original scales may have had a Wusthof marking. One way or the other if it is a Solingen razor it is probably going to be a good shaver. Hone it or send it out to be honed and it ought to be fine.

Thanks, I plan on sending it out for honing and I’m also curious about what would be best to clean/polish out the spots on the blade...
