I have a Henckels Friodur stainless 9/16, and a Henckels Zwillings carbon 5/8th. I prefer the Zwillingwerk, but my opinion is null and void, since these are the only two razors I've ever tried.

    Talking Pet Razor

My favorites are the ones I have traded off or sold. One in particular was a Reincke Gold Nugget 4/8. It was the jeep of all my razors. Always ready and did a good job. I make leather leather pouches for carrying razors in pockets for show&tell, etc. I confess to a quirk: Whenever a razor seems to shave a Best Blade Shave, I place it in its pouch on the night table by our bed. It gets the reward of being near me during the night. I think this is from the days we boys took baseball gloves, BB guns, or favorite possessions to bed with us. I once had a favorite lawnmower, but it leaked oil...

    Default OK, that's easy!

    This one is my favorite:

No, wait a second, this one is pretty nice too....

Nope....OK, I'm serious this time.....THIS one is my best razor!

Actually, the heavier grind of the LeGrelot makes it my BEST razor!

But if I'm talking heavy grinds, the vintage W&B wedge can't be beat for a smooooth shave!

Then again, I had this one custome made to my specifications....

Vintage NOS Wusthof gives a damn close shave....perhaps it is the best?

These are all my BEST razors!

    So far...................

I usually have 4-5 razors in my rotation. I do NOT like 5/8 blades and I'm not fond of Stainless Steel either. Lately, I really enjoy 7/8 blades-both round and square point.

I am currently waiting for USPS to drop off this-pictured, by Robert Williams- I'm anticipating a damn good shave too.
