Thread: Has this bengall been modified?

Hey,

Picked up a few bengalls recently,



and



With the 2nd one, the end looks like it's been cut off, eg, no french tip?

Is this normal? is this how they came? or has the end been chipped and they've cut the razor back a bit to repair ?

I don't think it's been modified! You got yourself a factory square point in my estimation!

Yeah had a bit of a dodgy experience with ebay, so just wondering if thats how the blade was meant to be,

I got a couple like that, plus the first one,

Already restored #2, came up 'okish' was able to hone it up and shave with it, did a good job, so thats the main thing

The Bengall in the top picture is a beautiful razor, nice snag.

I've been cleaning the top one up, but the scales are broken, well, a pin is, so i was thinking of trying to make some scales for it, but yeah, got rid of most of the pitting etc, but im a little nervous about honing that smile
