    Default Derby Razor Blades

Are Derby razor blades sharp enough for straight razor shaving?

I would say yes. Derby blades perform quite well in my Merkur HD. Sounds like you are using a shavette?

I never did meet a DE blade that wasn't sharp enough for a Shavette. Derbys are nice enough to keep for a real DE, though. Snap a Merkur for the Shavette and save the Derbys for those days when you fancy a change.

Couldn't agree more with Dr. Moss here.
The Derby is surely SHARP enough...but that's a nice blade. If you never use your DE at all anymore, sure go ahead, but if you go back and forth, save your Derby blades for that.

    Default Great Blade!!

I bought some packets of Derby's in Kosovo and they are by far my favorite shavette blade. I used to by using the same stainless steel blades my barber uses and also tried the Bic's and a few others, but I find the Derby's to be way sharper out of the box and keep their edge for 3+ shaves. I absolutely love them!

Derbys are great shavette blades, those will work well. I prefer dorkos myself but I think you will be happy with the derby.

the derby de's broken or the derby shavette blades are just fine. I'm not sure if they make the shavette type blades on the same equipment, but if they use the same process (+coatings, etc) it should be fine.
