Original scales on Boker?
Just got this Boker of ebay.I have seen so many with this ivory imitation scales, that I assumed they were original...Now I have my doubts. There is no sign of the Boker insignia.
Anyone that knows the answer?

Hey Kris, can't answer the scale question but I did see this razor and was very interested in it. My missing piece to my razor puzzle is a nice shoulderless.
Good job!!!

Thanked: 13246Kris one way I can usually tell is the pins, look at the wedge pin and compare it to the pivot pin very closely... Most of the time if the scales were changed the pins will not match...

hmm.The wedge pin seems slightly smaller...Anyways, I read somewhere that original Boker and Henckel scales allways has Insignias on them.Know anything sertain of this? thanks Glen.

Thanked: 13246I do not think that is true Kris, but the resident Boker expert is Doc you might drop him a PM and ask him to look at this thread... Also check out the Boker Brotherhood in the razor clubs sub-forum, there is tons of info in there too....

Thanked: 95I think Glen is on to something again, I have a Boker with the original scales, and it don't have any insignas on it, further more I have/had 2 Henckle's razors whitout insignas on the scales, one was a 70 1/2 and the other one is a 277, both of them non Friodurs. So I'm pretty sure there are both Bokers and Henckles out there without the insignas on the scales.
But I might be wrong, it has happened before

Kristoffer, I think these scales are original.
Source: Go to the Boker Brotherhood Page 6. There is a Boker catalogue from 1906 in PDF format posted by Doc (pages 103-106). The first razor on page 2 has scales that look like yours.
