Dovo "Classic Black"
I have a Dovo "Classic Black" 5/8 carbon steel razor. The case says Swedish steel, hollow ground. I purchased it Nov. 6 this year and it has maybe 20-25 shaves on it. I just got it back from being honed and have yet to shave with it. Which will be tomorrow morning.
The Honemeister who did the work-a senior member at SRP- said he had questions and issues with the quality of the steel and the integrity of the edge. That the razor honed to shave readiness very quickly but one shave would dull and twist the edge. For lack of a better description. I'm new at this so I don't have alot to compare to.
I was wondering if any of the Hone Masters out there have experience with this Dovo razor and what your thoughts are on the blade, steel, craftmanship etc...

Dovo razors are traditionally good razors. Lots of stropping should be your first prescription. Take your time, ensure you strop well and the shave should go fine.

I have the same razor and its done me well for over 10 years now, it shaves as well as any other razor of similar steel or grind.

Well I have 2 Dovos and both are great shavers and my 5/8 carbon steel Dovo was my first. It takes a wicked edge and has been problem free. I think all companies have there issues with quality every now and then... some more then others. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend or buy a Dovo.

I suppose a perfectly good Dovo could have had a run in with a mad man wielding a grinder, been over heated to the point of losing it’s temper (no pun intended), and that’s all she wrote. Ya couldn’t even see the trauma beneath the shiny exterior.
