From a pedantic point of view I suppose they were just following the rules. Ebay aren't experts on everything and don't always know what is in buyers' best interests.

It's a shame, there are some shameless examples of "browse manipulation" slipping through the net all the time.

They are experts at making money from their sellers sales!

Seriously though (hold on - I was being serious!) I have talked to enough of their advisors on the phone to know that they are also experts at employing advisors and administrators who themselves are only expert at answering the telephone and quoting all sorts of irrelevant garbage to confuse sellers.
