Thanked: 13249A little Help please !!!
I snagged a Kron-Punkt razor off ebay for one of the guys at work... I have it all cleaned up and ready for the hones.... I can't find one thing in any of my books about the brand so I can tell him some history about it...
Does anyone have the company info especially dates of manufacture???
Thanks for any help in advance...

I haven't come accross one of those...
Syslight said something about the Kronpunkt on the forum (http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...kt-38-a.html): Dovo purchaced the brand name Kronpunkt from Paul Heups in 1969. I do not know if Dovo made these razors before that time under contract. i have a #91 that is a an excetional shave and it is stamped "Paul Heups Solingen Germany" on the back of the tang.
Other references here: DOVO Stahlwaren Bracht GmbH & Co. KG and DOVO Solingen / Enterprise (North Rhine-Westphalia) - Economy-point.org
There is also a brand named Kron, from Germany, alife between 1919-1922 (cf. Standard guide to Razors by R. Ritchie & R. Stewart, p. 156); but I don't knwo if they are related...
Hope this helps.

Thanked: 586I can tell you that Kron Punkt in English means Kron Point. If you cannot find any other factual data, I have a very good imagination and I can develope a provanance for this razor that will make it the most sought after blade of any collector.

Glen, let's use all our imagination here ;-). Most likely, if nobody here knows about this razor, he would never find out the truth ;-). Just kidding.
Al raz.

Thanked: 335Just think what you'd have if this was one of the fabled Kronik Punkt razors. You know, the ones that could cleave a Samurai's sword and then shave a face so clean that the follicles would be frightened enough that they wouldn't dare show their stubble for at least a couple of weeks.
Maybe you should check that shank again
