    Default Duck Value

What do you guys think the value of a Goldedge duck in good to excellent conditin is worth.

    Also, a number 1 and a wonderedge.

Ebay is just ridiculous. The constantly go over 100 dollars, and that's not one's that I'd consider good.

I've just about given up on Ebay, and will look for members selling theirs, at least I'd think I'd get a better deal....

my Beau Brummel and my recently arrived Goldedge seem to be identical (both are the best shavers I've ever used), even the scales are very similar. unlike the Duck, the Beau you can find in excellent condition for quite cheap. I would say Beau Brummel is worth $20 and the Dubl Duck Goldedge $60.

If I am not mistaken, BB's and DD's have something in common... they come through the same distributors or some such. I don't really remember.

With regards to what they are worth, you could search through the old BST to get an idea of what they used to go for. Beyond that, a razor is worth whatever you (or the buyer) is willing to pay.

Depends on condition. A minty duck is going to be a pricey item. The Wonderedge and Goldedge in particular. I have never even seen a minty Lifetime. They are probably out there. Good luck finding one of those at any price.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

What's "BST" I'm not familar with that. I also dodged a bullet tonight on Ebay. someone listed a Goldedge as "Minty"
When I looked closer at the pics, it had rust, stains, pitting. I contacted the seller who said he'd take it back so I was relieved, someone bid 204.00 dollars last minute, that's crazy. I think I'm staying away from Ebay. It's like blind buying. you really can't see the details in the blade, and you could get burned. I actually talked sellers into pulling their items off.
There was a reaper going for 250 bucks with a blade that was unusable, a frowning blade, the scales were iffy at best, i'd be afraid they'd crack during repinning. I think I'd rather buy one from a member.

The Buy/Sell/Trade section (which was replaced by the classifieds) used to be archived here Buy/Sell/Trade Archive - Straight Razor Place Forums, but I just looked and it seems to be gone.

On the BST, after razors were sold, it was up to the seller to decide whether or not to remove the selling price; many sellers left the prices up, so searching through the BST was often a good way to price razors.

just stay away from dubl ducks on ebay [or anywhere else]. other brands are very reasonable.

You have to remember Ducks were at one time very common razors because they were preferred and marketed to the trade and many barbers sold them to the public and people found out about them from barbers who extolled their virtues. Unfortunately they were treated like common items which is why so many are in crummy shape.

Forget about a Wonderedge. In great condition your talking $300+
Goldedge in great condition, probably over $200
A number one you should be able to get a great one for around $100.

I always say with Eboy if your patient you will get what you want for your price if your reasonable.
