    Default question on Dovo's

Do all of the Dovo razors use the same steel? I know that some are stainless and some are carbon steel. But are all of the carbon steel blades the same and the cost difference due to the scales and gold inlay?
I am considering this razor: http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/st...l.html?s=G147b
Do you think it would be a good choice?
I have a relatively heavy beard and shave my head in addition to my face. I am currently using a 5/8 J.A. Henckels Twinworks "Platinum" Dry Hone which is the only straight I have ever used.
Do you think I would be better off with a 6/8, full hollow grind, partial hollow grind, wedge, etc.? Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Larry

Seems like a good choice, I only have one Dovo ( Dovo special ) and I like it a lot.You would have to get it honed tough...
When it comes to size and grind all I can say is that it is a personal thing. You really have to try different ones.

If you have a heavy beard, I would recommend one of the 'Bismarck' models - the blade is significantly stiffer than most of their others and tackles tough beards very well.
