I scared the bejesus out of a tomato with a Joseph Elliot once...:D
Yup, against my whiskers
It's kinda like that scene from Taxi Driver with Robert Deniro; that's the kind of talks I have between my whiskers, my razors and I.
Highly entertaining, very amusing, and very troublesome.
When I was stationed with the 82nd Airborne at Ft. Bragg in 68, we had a Korean Hand to Hand instructor who showed how easy it is to take a knife or razor from someone. He also said the person with the knife or razor sure looks funny running away with it sticking out of his ass. Never saw a razor or knife fighter that can beat a good old Colt 1911 or an army boot.
If you encounter a guy with a knife at close range and he is motivated and you have a holstered weapon it will be you with the knife sticking out of you. it has been proven many times unless you are around 20 feet from the dude you can't draw it in time unless you have a fast draw holster and are someone like Mr Jordan who is highly experienced with fast draw and an expert shot.
No straight razor fighting for me, 25 ft is the magic # for me, having disproved the knife wielder twice, they didn't make it, I'm still here.
I think my odds are much better with my Colt and some situational awareness. Not planning on using my knife or razor even if the perp gets within 21ft. Hand to hand is my last resort since I am getting a little older.
Not personally, but my old friend Bad Bad Leroy Brown used to carry one as a backup..............:w
Yes, Inadvertently against myself once. I lost
