Boker USA
Anybody know about these usa made bokers? what would something like this be worth? it is not a tiny bit off centered in the scales but that could probably be fixed with a tap on the pin at the blade. there is one spot on the blade but has seen very little honing

Thanked: 174The spot will polish off easily and then she will look like new. I get a spot like that if I leave a drop on the blade by accident overnight. I use PEEK metal cleaner it works just great and is the best I've found yet in Europe. I think in the US the guys use MAAS.
That's a simple clean looking razor that I 'm sure will give you a great daily shave for your lifetime.
I think that many of the US razors are modeled on that basic Boker design. I believe that Boker had a factory in the USA and I wonder if they made blanks for some other US names as well.
Enjoy it.Last edited by English; 01-12-2009 at 12:16 PM.

I actually have that same Boker. It is laying in line waiting to be honed. When I get it honed and shave with it I'll let you know what I think. If you get yours shaving first you do the same I am curious.

IIRC Boker had a factory in the states and one in Mexico as well.

That IS interesting! I have a Boker distributorship and all the ones I can get are made in Solingen. Actually Heribert Wacker makes them. This link shows him making them. It is an interesting video but is in German.

Boker has factories in Mexico and also Argentina in addition to Germany; however, the razor should be labled from its country of origion.

I can just barely make out Made In USA on it. That being the case these are NOS from one of the American razor manufacturers. I believe Shumate was the last of the U.S. manufacturers but sometimes these razors are very old and it could be from any number of firms. It is undoubtadly a really good razor though. That spot is really easy to get rid of with a felt pad and some 600 grit or finer diamond paste. It would just take a light buffing to get rid of it. What is it worth? Well, with the price NOS razors are going for now days I would say about $50 at an absolute minimum on eBay and maybe as much as $125 given the right collector/shaver. You could probably count on $75+ if you were to sell it with the spot buffed out.
